Course Description

Via this nationally-recognised Certificate IV, you will learn the following:

  • How to recommend meal plans based on dietary guidelines
  • Helping your clients modify their meals according to their health goals
  • Interpreting medical terminology
  • With these skills and knowledge, you’ll be able to pursue a career as a nutrition assistant, dietetic assistant, or allied health assistant.

There are no entry requirements at all for this course. While the theory part is delivered entirely online, you will need to undergo 120 hours of mandatory work placements. This Certificate IV runs for 2 years through self-paced learning.

  • To successfully complete this course, TAFE Digital recommends that you have a computer and reliable Internet access and access to a registered Dietitian as a workplace supervisor for a minimum of 120 hours work placement.
  • Although there are no Training Package entry requirements for this qualification, TAFE Digital has a local screening process to make sure prospective students have the right pre-existing knowledge and skills to achieve their chosen qualification
  • To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to meet the following work placement requirements:
  • workplace supervisor contact details. TAFE Digital will contact the supervisor to confirm their suitability.
    Work Placement is a requirement of this course. You will need to complete:
  • a minimum of 120 hours of work placement at an approved allied health or relevent healthcare facility, to demonstrate the required performance skills under the direction and supervision (direct, indirect, remote) as determined by the Dietitian. During your study, you’ll need to meet specific requirements to complete your coursework. Your teacher will let you know when you need to provide evidence of:

  • A valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
  • Evidence of an up-to-date vaccination history
